Herdwick Hut is on our farm near the village of Twynllanan, up in the Black Mountain part of the Brecon Beacons. It's a hut, so it's compact, sleeps two.
It's solar powered, so it runs on lights and a small fridge from the panels. There's a wood burner for heat, a gas hob for cooking. The bed folds up to make a seating area. The toilet and sink are inside, but the shower is in a separate cubicle just outside the hut. It's private, just for you.
You've got your own enclosed garden space with a table, chairs, a fire pit and a barbecue. We've planted orchards and a herb garden around it. Help yourself to whatever's growing when you're here.
The farm has about 20 acres of ancient woodland and river walks. You can walk straight out from the hut onto the mountain. The footpaths are right there.
Llyn y Fan lake is a popular walk from here. It's about a 40 minute drive to the main visitor centres for the Brecon Beacons National Park. The area is a Dark Sky Reserve, so on a clear night, the stars are very good.
The nearest shop and pub is in Llanddeusant, about six miles away. Llandeilo is under half an hour's drive for more shops and cafes.
Inside, there's WiFi, bedding and towels are provided. There's parking right next to the hut. We don't accept pets.
If you need more space, you can book it together with Bramble Cottage, which is also on the farm.
