Maes Y Bryn Farmhouse

This is Maes Y Bryn Farmhouse, out past Waunclunda in Carmarthenshire. It's a detached farmhouse. Modern build, but done to feel traditional. Big place, sleeps ten across five bedrooms, with three bathrooms. Quite a few of the rooms have their own ensuite. It's got a 5 Star rating, so it's well put together and comfortable.

The views are the main thing. They look straight out over the Brecon Beacons. You get them from the back of the house.

Inside, it's all open plan on the ground floor. Kitchen, dining, and living area in one big space. There's a wood burning stove for cooler nights. We've put in a games room too, with a pool table and table football. Useful if the weather turns.

A couple of things to know. It's on a working farm, so you'll see sheep and maybe some tractors about. The lane up to it is a typical farm track, so just take it steady in a low car. There's plenty of parking. The garden is enclosed, which is good for dogs. We take up to two.

You've got a local pub about half a mile down the lane. It's a proper local, does food. For shops, Llandeilo is your nearest town, about a ten minute drive. Good butchers and bakers there, and a few nice places to eat. The Tywi Valley runs through it.

You're right on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. For walking, you can just head straight out from the door. The Black Mountain isn't far. The Red Kite feeding centre at Llanddeusant is about a 20 minute drive, worth a trip to see them. For castles, Carreg Cennen is stunning, about 15 minutes away. Dinefwr Park is near Llandeilo too.

Facilities wise, it's got what you'd need. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, all bedding and towels included. There's a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you're bringing little ones. The entrance is level and there's a shower on the ground floor.
