The Barn
The Barn is on our farm here in Girthon. It's an old steadings building we converted in 2018. It’s just a few minutes from Gatehouse of Fleet, which has some good places to eat.
The place sleeps six. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It’s got a 4 Star rating. It’s comfortable and clean, and you’ve got the garden to yourselves. There’s your own parking.
You're in the yard of a working farm. That means you'll see farm vehicles coming and going sometimes. It's a quiet valley, though. Good for walks right from the door.
The coast is about a mile and a half away. There are plenty of beaches and walks along there. The Galloway Forest is on the doorstep if you like cycling or walking. The 7Stanes mountain bike trails are famous round here.
Gatehouse of Fleet is your closest town. There's a shop, pubs, and a restaurant about two miles off. They've got Cardoness Castle and the Mill on the Fleet. Historic Scotland has details on the castle.
For a day out, the Cream O’ Galloway ice cream place is at Sandgreen. Laggan Outdoors is nearby if you want activities. The Galloway Forest Park website is useful for planning.
Inside, there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, and TV with satellite. WiFi is included. Bedding and towels are provided. There’s bike storage if you need it. No pets, I'm afraid.
