Callander's High Street
This is Callander's High Street. It's on, well, the high street in Gatehouse of Fleet. A terraced cottage.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, but three bathrooms. Each bedroom has its own en-suite, so no one has to queue. You can bring two dogs.
It's a 4 Star place, so it's been done up. New kitchen, that sort of thing. There's a woodburning stove for cooler nights. The garden out the back is private and enclosed, which is good for the dogs.
You're right in the town. There's a shop, a couple of pubs, and places to eat about fifty yards away. The River Fleet is just there for a walk. The coast is about five miles west if you fancy the beach.
Galloway Forest Park is close. Big area for walking. They've got the red kite feeding station at Loch Ken and it's a Dark Sky Park, so the stars are good on a clear night. Galloway Forest Park has the details.
Castle Douglas is a twenty minute drive. Lots of food shops there. Kirkcudbright is about the same. It's an artist's town, has a proper feel to it. If you want to go further, you're not far from the ferry over to Northern Ireland from Stranraer.
For facilities, it's got what you'd need. Washing machine, WiFi, TV. Bicycle storage if you bring them. A cot and highchair are there if you need them. Bedding and towels are included.
