The Granary is a cottage for two in Gatehouse of Fleet. It's terraced, so you've got neighbours, but it's a quiet street. You get a garden out the back.
It's a one-bedroom place. One bathroom with a walk-in shower. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. There's a woodburning stove in the sitting room.
The village shop is about 100 yards away, and a pub and restaurant are even closer, maybe 20 yards. They're handy.
The area is good for getting outside. You're about ten minutes' drive from beaches like Mossyard and Carrick. The Galloway Forest Park is nearby, which is a Dark Sky Park. If you like mountain biking, the Kirroughtree and Dalbeattie forest trails are within a 30 minute drive.
For a day out, Kirkcudbright is about a twenty minute drive. It's an old harbour town with galleries. Cardoness Castle is just outside the village and is worth a look. If you're interested in gardens, Threave Gardens are run by the National Trust for Scotland.
Inside, there's a washing machine and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking on site. You can bring up to two dogs.
If you're planning walks or need maps, the Forestry and Land Scotland page for Galloway Forest Park is useful. The National Trust for Scotland page for Threave Garden has visitor information.
