Willow
This is Willow. It's one of three cottages on a quiet street in Gatehouse of Fleet. It's a small town in Galloway, on the southern edge of Scotland.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both doubles I think. Two bathrooms, which is handy. One has a bath, the other is a walk-in shower. There's a multi-fuel stove in the living room and the kitchen is decently sized. It's got a 5 Star rating, so everything is in good order.
The village is right there. There's a pub and a restaurant about twenty paces away. The shop is a minute's walk. It's very quiet at night.
The coast is close. Mossyard Beach is about a ten minute drive. It's good for a walk or a paddle, and it's often empty. For bigger beaches, you can drive up to Sandhead or down to Kipford.
If you like walking or cycling, you're in the right place. The Galloway Forest Park starts just outside town. It's good for forest trails. Kirroughtree and Dalbeattie, which are part of the 7Stanes mountain bike trails, are both within a twenty minute drive. The forest is also a Dark Sky Park, so if it's a clear night, the stars are very good.
Golfers can play at the local course, which is a nine-hole. There are plenty of others a short drive away.
You can be in Kirkcudbright in about fifteen minutes. It's a nice harbour town with galleries and cafes. Castle wise, Cardoness is just up the hill from the cottage. Threave Garden is about a twenty-five minute drive towards Castle Douglas.
Facilities: there's parking right outside, a washing machine, dishwasher, and Wi-Fi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.
