The Bothy, it's a semi-detached old farm building we've done up on our farm near Gatehouse of Fleet. We live in the other half. It's just for two people.
It's got that 3 Star rating, so it's clean and has what you need but it's not posh. The ceilings are a bit low in places, you'll want to mind your head. You get your own little enclosed garden area to sit out.
Inside, it's one bedroom and one bathroom. Everything's on the ground floor. Bedding and towels are there. There's parking right outside, WiFi, and a telly. You're welcome to store bikes.
The farm's still working, so you'll see us and the animals about. It's quiet here in the Girthon valley.
Gatehouse of Fleet is the nearest proper place, about two miles. There's a shop, pubs, and places to eat. The coast at Sandgreen is about a mile and a half for a walk on the beach.
If you like walking or cycling, you can start right from the door. For the mountain bike trails, the Kirroughtree centre at Newton Stewart is about a twenty minute drive. They're part of the 7Stanes. For a day out, you've got the Galloway Forest Park for walking, or castles like Cardoness nearby.
