This is Union Street in Kirkcudbright. It's a terraced house on a quiet road, about two minutes' walk from the high street. You can't park right outside, but there's a free public car park literally round the corner, thirty seconds away.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one with a double bed, one with two singles. One bathroom with a shower. It's a 4 Star, so it's well equipped and comfortable. The stairs are fairly steep, as you'd expect.
You can bring up to two dogs. There's a washing machine, towels and bedding are included, and there's WiFi.
You're right in the town. There's a good pub that does food about a hundred yards away. The harbour's a five minute walk. Kirkcudbright is known as an artists' town, so there are a lot of galleries and workshops. The Broughton House garden, which is National Trust for Scotland, is worth a look.
The coast is close. The nearest proper beach is at Brighouse Bay, about a fifteen minute drive. For walking or cycling, you're not far from the Galloway Forest Park, which was the first Dark Sky Park in the UK. The Forestry and Land Scotland site has all the trail maps. There's also a Dark Sky Planetarium in town if the weather's bad.
