Hameish is a detached cottage next to our house. It's in Kirkcudbright, which is a harbour town. You can walk in, takes about ten minutes.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both en-suite, so you get two bathrooms. It's all on the ground floor and the doors are wide, so it's good if you have any mobility issues. The path from your parking spot to the front door is gravel but it's level.
The cottage faces south, so it gets the sun. You've got your own garden and patio with a table, chairs, and a barbecue. There's a woodburning stove for cooler nights.
We say it's 'Luxury', which really just means it's been done up nicely. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable, not fussy. Everything is included, bedding and towels and that.
The town is good. There are plenty of pubs and places to eat a few hundred yards away. They call it the artists' town. There's usually something on, like festivals or a market.
You're right on the coast. The River Dee is about five minutes' walk away, and you can walk along it to the harbour. We're close to the Galloway Forest Park if you want to go for a proper walk or see some dark skies. Galloway Forest Park has all the information.
Further out, Threave Garden is worth a visit if you like that sort of thing. It's run by the National Trust for Scotland. Dumfries is about 25 miles east. Castle Douglas is closer, maybe nine miles.
Inside, there's a TV, WiFi, a dishwasher and a washing machine. You can park right outside. No pets sorry.
