This one is High Street in Kirkcudbright. It's right in the middle of town. The house itself is a tall, traditional townhouse.
It sleeps eight, has four bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating so everything's in good order and well presented. There's a main bathroom upstairs and a walk-in shower room on the ground floor, which is handy.
The kitchen is large, with a table for everyone. French doors lead into a big conservatory which looks out over the garden. There's a wood burner in there. It's a good spot.
The garden is enclosed. There's also a shed for storing bikes if you've brought them.
You're very central. There's a shop about 300 yards away. The pub is next door and serves food. A restaurant is about 100 yards from the front door.
Kirkcudbright is on the estuary. The harbour's busy. The town has a history with artists, so there are galleries and craft shops. Broughton House, which is a National Trust property, is worth a visit if that's your thing.
The coast is nearby for walks. A proper beach is about three and a half miles away.
It's a good base for activities. There's sailing and fishing locally. The Galloway Forest Park, which is a Dark Sky Park, is about a 20-minute drive for stargazing. For mountain biking, several of the 7Stanes trails are within a 30-minute drive. Threave Garden is also close by.
Facilities: everything's included - bedding, towels, electricity. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. It's wheelchair accessible at the entrance and the ground floor shower room is a walk-in. We can provide a cot, highchair, and stairgate. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome.
