Heron View

Heron View is in Kirkcudbright. It's one of three cottages here on the site, called High Kirkland.

It sleeps five. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The main room is open plan, kitchen and dining area leading into the sitting room. There's a wood-burning stove. The windows look out over the fields towards the Galloway Hills. The view is the main thing.

Outside, there's a private patio area with a hot tub. You get that view from there, too.

The town of Kirkcudbright is about a mile's walk. It's on the water, with a harbour, some ruins like MacLellan's Castle, and a lot of art galleries. They call it the Artist's Town. There are shops, cafes, and pubs there. In the summer, there are events, including a Tattoo.

For wider days out, you're in the Galloway Hills. The coast is close. You can drive to the National Trust for Scotland's Threave Garden near Castle Douglas in under half an hour, or to the Galloway Forest Park for walking.

Facilities: it has the hot tub, parking, and an electric vehicle charger. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. A cot and highchair are there if you need them. You can bring one dog.

The other two cottages, Robin’s Nest and The Byre, are nearby. You can book them all together if you have a bigger group, but Heron View is separate for your own stay.
