Auchengool House

Auchengool House is in the middle of Kirkcudbright. It's a town house, right on the street, but it's got a private walled garden out the back. The garden has a hot tub and you can see the ruins of MacLellan Castle from it.

It sleeps up to ten people in five bedrooms. There are three bathrooms. One has an old-fashioned roll top bath. It's a 5 Star place, so it's well finished and comfortable. The stairs are normal.

The town is small and you can walk everywhere. There's a harbour with fishing boats. It's known as an artists' town, so there are a few galleries. The main one is Kirkcudbright Galleries. Broughton House is worth a visit too, it's an artist's old home run by the National Trust for Scotland.

You're about ten miles from the coast for beaches. The area is good for walking. The Galloway Forest Park is about a thirty minute drive. It's a Dark Sky Park, so good for stargazing if it's clear. There's a planetarium nearby too.

Facilities: it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, Wi-Fi, and a wood burning stove. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking for two cars on the street directly outside. No pets.
