Blackloch
Blackloch is a big, detached farmhouse about half a mile outside Gatehouse of Fleet. It's on a quiet country lane. We finished renovating it in 2022.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. The place is bright and spacious.
The main view is to the back, over fields. Every room has a view, actually. The living room has a wood burner. There’s a sunroom at the front if you want a quieter spot.
The kitchen is new and has a dishwasher. There's a separate dining room. The utility room is large, good for drying boots. It also has a pool table.
The stairs are standard, not too steep. The beds are good. All bedding and towels are included.
You can bring one well-behaved dog. The garden is enclosed.
Gatehouse of Fleet is a small town. It's a short walk in. There are a couple of places to eat. The castle, Cardoness, is right at the town entrance. The Mill on the Fleet is worth a look.
You're on the edge of the Galloway Forest Park. For walkers and cyclists, it's great. The 7Stanes mountain bike trails are in the forest. The coast is about three and a half miles away.
For a day out, Kirkcudbright is about a twenty-minute drive. It's an artists' town. Dumfries is roughly half an hour.
