This is The Byre, in Laurieston. It's a converted barn we finished in 2020, one of three around a courtyard here at Grobdale. It’s detached.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms, and there are two bathrooms. It’s got a 5 Star rating. It's well-insulated and has underfloor heating, plus a wood burner in the living room if you fancy it.
The kitchen is open plan with the living area. It has a dishwasher. There's a washing machine too. We include bedding and towels. WiFi works fine.
You're on a working farm with about 65 acres of our land to wander. Kids like seeing the sheep. It's very quiet. You can bring two dogs.
The nearest proper shop, pub, and places to eat are in Gatehouse of Fleet, about six miles away. It's a nice little town with a castle and a visitor centre. The coast there is good, places like Mossyard beach.
You're right on the edge of the Galloway Forest Park. It's great for walking and mountain biking. The Forestry and Land Scotland site has trail maps. Kirkcudbright is about a 20-minute drive, it's an interesting town with galleries and a harbour.
We have parking right outside. There’s a patio with furniture and a shared lawn. You can store bikes.
