The Croft is a barn we converted a few years back. It's one of three cottages around a courtyard here at Grobdale. It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a five star rating, which basically means it's new and well finished. Everything works.
You're on the edge of the Galloway Forest Park. It's quiet. The views are of hills and fields. You can walk around the farm's 65 acres. There are other guests sometimes, but it's not crowded.
The kitchen is decent. There's a dishwasher, a wood burner in the living room, and underfloor heating. The shower is a walk-in one. Everything is on the ground floor. You can park right outside.
We allow up to two dogs. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included.
Gatehouse of Fleet is about six miles away. It's a nice little town with a couple of shops, a pharmacy, and some places to eat. The coast is about ten miles. Mossyard beach is good for a walk. Kirkcudbright is worth a visit, it's about a 20 minute drive. They've got the harbour and art galleries.
You're right for walking and cycling from the door. The forest park tracks start nearby. If you want to plan routes, the Forestry and Land Scotland Galloway page is useful. For local history, Historic Environment Scotland has details on places like Cardoness Castle.
The other two cottages, The Byre and The Dairy, are here if you're coming with more people. They can be booked together.
