High Auchenlarie Cottage
High Auchenlarie Cottage is in Kirkdale, Dumfriesshire. It's a detached cottage. You get the whole place and the garden, which looks out over fields and Wigtown Bay.
It sleeps eight. There are four bedrooms and four bathrooms, which helps with a group. Two bedrooms are downstairs. It's a 4 Star place, so it's nicely finished and comfortable.
The main thing is the view. You get it from the living room, the sun room, and all the bedrooms. There's a wood burner for cool evenings. The kitchen has everything you'd need. The stairs are the normal cottage sort.
Gatehouse of Fleet is about six miles away. It has shops, cafes, and places to eat. For something closer, there's a new dining place called Gather at Laggan, a couple of miles down the lane. The views from there are very good.
The coast is right there for walks. There are rocky bits and sandy beaches. The Galloway Forest Park is nearby for cycling and walking. It's a Dark Sky Park, so you can see the stars well on a clear night.
If you have children, there's a chocolate factory with play areas near Gatehouse, and the Dark Space Planetarium in Kirkcudbright.
Facilities wise: there's parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and an enclosed garden. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog.
