Olafs Cottage is in Garlieston, about three quarters of a mile up a private road. It's semi-detached and looks out over the sea. On a clear day you can see the Isle of Man one way and the Galloway Hills the other.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. The rating is 3 Star. It's comfortable and clean, not high-end.
The cottage sits next to fifty acres of our woodland. You're welcome to walk in it. There's a path that takes you down to a beach. It's sandy and pebbly, good for fishing off the rocks. That's about a ten minute walk. In May, there's a two mile walk through the bluebells on the estate.
The village is about a mile and a quarter away. There's a harbour, a pub, a bowling green, and some tennis courts. There's a shop at the garage. Galloway House Gardens are two miles from here.
Inside, there's a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking for you. You can bring up to two dogs. We provide a cot and a highchair if you need them.
For planning wider days out, the Galloway Forest Park is about a thirty minute drive. The National Trust for Scotland has good information for the area too.
