Olafs Cottage
Olafs Cottage is in Garlieston, Dumfriesshire. It’s semi-detached, at the end of someone’s private road. You can see the Isle of Man on a clear day, which is good. The cottage sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It’s a 3 Star place, so it’s comfortable and clean.
The owner’s woodland is next to it. There are tracks through it down to the beach, which takes about ten minutes to walk. The beach is sandy and pebbly with rocks. It’s quiet.
In the village, about a mile and a quarter away, there's a harbour, a shop at the garage, and a pub. There are also two tennis courts and a bowling green. Galloway House gardens are two miles away.
Newton Stewart is about a fifteen minute drive for a bigger supermarket and shops. If you want to go further, Wigtown, the book town, is about half an hour. The Galloway Forest Park is good for walking and stargazing, and that’s under thirty minutes by car.
For the house itself, it’s got a woodburning stove, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a garden. Parking is right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can take up to two dogs. There’s a cot and highchair if you need them.
