The Seaview Retreat

The Seaview Retreat is on our farm, just outside Whithorn. It's a detached cottage. You get the place to yourselves. The view from the front is over fields to Wigtown Bay. It's very quiet.

It sleeps three. Two bedrooms and one bathroom with a shower. We did it up a couple of years ago, so it's in good order. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is about right. It's comfortable and everything works.

You're on a working farm, so you'll see sheep and maybe some machinery going past. The patio outside has a wood-fired hot tub. It's good at night when the skies are clear.

The Isle of Whithorn is about five minutes away by car. It's a small harbour village with a pub and a tearoom. You can sit and watch the boats. Wigtown is close too. It's Scotland's book town, so there are a lot of bookshops.

For a bigger shop, Newton Stewart is about a twenty minute drive. It's got supermarkets and places to eat.

The coast around here is good for walking. There are sandy beaches if you don't mind the water being cold. The Galloway Forest Park is inland, about half an hour's drive. It's big and wild. If you're into mountain biking, the 7Stanes trails at Kirroughtree are there.

Further down the coast, Portpatrick is a nice harbour. The RSPB reserve at the Mull of Galloway is about forty minutes away. That's the very southern tip of Scotland.

Facilities: there's a TV, parking right outside, and bedding and towels are included. All the electricity is covered. Sorry, no pets.

It's just this cottage, but we've got two other places on the farm if you're a bigger group. You can book them together.
