Cotters Cottage is on our working cattle farm, near Whithorn. It's a detached cottage. You're right out in the fields here.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and has everything you need. The entrance and main living area are all on one level, which is handy. The garden is enclosed if you've got dogs or kids.
You’re about three miles from the coast. There are some good sandy beaches that way, like Garlieston. The shop is a mile away, and the nearest pub that does food is three miles.
The cottage is a good base for getting out. The Galloway Forest Park is about half an hour's drive. It's a Dark Sky Park, so if it's a clear night, the stars are incredible. You can walk there, or just drive through it. There are lochs and waterfalls all through those hills.
Further south, the Mull of Galloway is the very bottom point of Scotland. It's a proper headland with a lighthouse. The views are massive, you can see across to Ireland and the Isle of Man on a good day. It's about a 40-minute drive.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, a cot and highchair if you need them, bedding and towels are included. WiFi and TV. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking right outside.
