This is Seaview. It's our place in Garlieston. It's white, end of terrace, and right on the harbour. The main thing is the view. You look straight out over the bay. It's quiet here.
It was converted from an old mill. The stairs are fairly typical for a building of that age, so they're a bit steeper than modern ones.
The house sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both doubles. There are two bathrooms, one on each floor, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating. The WiFi works. We include all bedding and towels. There's a washing machine. Parking is right outside.
We allow one well-behaved dog. The village shop and a pub are about five minutes walk. The pub does meals.
From here you can walk straight out along the coast. The area is good for cycling, with the Seven Stanes trails not far away. Wigtown, which is Scotland's book town, is about fifteen minutes by car. Whithorn has its historic priory. Newton Stewart has supermarkets and more pubs, maybe a twenty minute drive.
For bigger days out, the Galloway Forest Park is about half an hour's drive. It's a proper dark sky park. The Mull of Galloway is a bit further, maybe forty minutes, but it's the southernmost point.
