Bel-Mar
Bel-Mar is on our farm in Portyerrock. It's detached, so it's just you and the view. And the view is the main thing, really. It looks straight out over Wigtown Bay. You get it from the living room, the dining room, and the conservatory.
It sleeps eight people in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. It's clean and solid. We live and work on the farm, so we're nearby if you need anything.
The conservatory gets the afternoon sun. It's a good spot to sit. The garden is enclosed, so it's safe for kids or a dog, but we don't take pets, sorry. There's parking right outside.
You're on a farm, so it's quiet. The nearest shop is about two miles away in Whithorn. The pub and restaurant at the Isle of Whithorn are about three miles. It's a nice little harbour.
For beaches, Garlieston is close. For a bigger stretch of sand, you've got Portyerrock Bay itself just down the lane. It's good for a walk.
Wigtown is Scotland's book town. It's about ten minutes by car. Newton Stewart is bigger, maybe twenty minutes away, for more shops. If you like gardens, Logan Botanic Garden is special. It's about half an hour's drive.
You're well placed for the Galloway Forest Park if you want proper walking or cycling. The Dark Sky Park is there too. The coast around here, like the Mull of Galloway, is rugged and good for watching birds.
Inside, you've got the normal things. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
