Bel-Mar is on our farm, just outside Portyerrock. The farm's working, so you'll see tractors going past now and then. The views are the main thing. You get a full view of Wigtown Bay from most of the windows.
The cottage sleeps up to eight people in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well equipped and comfortable.
It's detached, so no one's through the wall. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you've got children or a dog. Actually, no pets, sorry. We've had to stop that.
Inside, it's spacious. The conservatory is usually the warmest spot in the afternoon. The stairs are fine, just standard.
The Isle of Whithorn is about three miles away. It's a small harbour with a pub that does food. Wigtown is Scotland's book town, about eight miles. Lots of bookshops. Newton Stewart is a bit bigger, for supermarkets and things, maybe a twenty minute drive.
You're about four miles from the coast. There are beaches at Sandhead and around the Mull of Galloway. The coastal walking is good. For a proper day out, the Galloway Forest Park is about half an hour's drive. It's a Dark Sky Park, so on a clear night the stars are very good.
The facilities are all listed. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair. There's parking right outside.
