Shore Cottage
Shore Cottage is in Garlieston in southern Scotland. It's one of a pair of old gardener's cottages. You can see the original stonework.
It's a one bedroom place, sleeps two. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The bathroom is on the ground floor.
The best thing about it is the garden. It's fully enclosed, which is good if you bring a dog. You're only about fifty yards from the beach at Rigg Bay. It's a quiet, sandy beach with trees. You can walk straight out the door and along the shore.
There's a path south through the woods to Cruggleton Cliffs. Or you can walk north into Garlieston village through the Galloway House Gardens, which are nice in spring.
The kitchen has what you need. There's a wood burning stove in the sitting room for cooler evenings. Wi-Fi, TV, washing machine, parking. Towels and bedding are included.
Garlieston village is about a mile away. There's a shop, a pub, and a restaurant there.
If you want to drive out, it's a good spot for it. Wigtown, which is Scotland's book town, is about a twenty minute drive. The Galloway Forest Park for hills and walking is maybe half an hour. The 7Stanes mountain bike trails are within easy reach too.
