Mid Bishopton Cottage
Mid Bishopton Cottage is on our farm, where we keep cattle. It's detached, and there's another cottage next to it you might see guests in. The garden is yours. It's mostly enclosed and looks out over the fields.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. The cottage is rated 4 Star. It's comfortable and clean. Everything's on one level, which makes it easy. The doorways and hall are wide enough for a wheelchair to get through, and there are grab rails by the shower.
You're about a mile from Whithorn. It's a small place, but it has a shop. The nearest pub and restaurant are three miles away. The coast is about the same distance.
Being on the farm, you'll see us going about our work. You're welcome to watch from a distance, but we ask you not to approach the cattle for your safety and theirs.
The area is good for walking. There's a lot of history in Whithorn. For a proper trip out, the Galloway Forest Park is about a half hour drive north. It's a Dark Sky Park, so if you're into stargazing it's a good spot. Forestry and Land Scotland - Galloway Forest Park.
South, you can drive down to the Mull of Galloway. It's Scotland's most southerly point. There's a lighthouse and the views are huge. It takes about forty minutes from the cottage.
Facilities wise, there's a washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We provide a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking right outside.
If you're coming with more people, you can book the cottage next door as well. Between them they sleep eight.
