Clarksburn Blue is in Monreith, a quiet little hamlet right on the coast. It's a detached cottage, so you're on your own. The garden is lovely, it's got trees and a little stream running through it, and you can see Luce Bay from the house.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been recently done up and feels fresh and comfortable. The main room is very big, with the living and dining area all together. There's a wood burner in there, and a big farmhouse table. The view from that room over the garden to the bay is the best thing about the place.
Monreith Beach is just across the road. It's a long, sandy beach, good for walks when the tide's out. St Medans Golf Club is about a mile away, a 9-hole course right on the coast.
Port William is a few miles along the coast. They've got a shop and a cafe there. For a bigger day out, the Logan Botanical Gardens are well worth a visit if you like that sort of thing. You're also in a good spot for exploring the rest of the Machars peninsula and the Galloway hills.
The facilities are all there: dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, parking. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
