Saltlife Cottage is in Port William, Dumfriesshire. It's right on the beach, basically in the harbour. You can walk out of the garden and onto the sand.
It sleeps six people. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It was done up in 2020, so everything's fairly new. They've got Sky Q and a wood burner. The main living room is upstairs to get the view. The view is the sea, out over Luce Bay. You can see the Mull of Galloway and the Isle of Man on a clear day.
The stairs are fine. There's parking. It's got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.
The village itself is small. There's a shop about twenty yards away. For a pub or a restaurant, you'd need to drive about ten miles to Garlieston or Whithorn.
If you like walking, you're on the Southern Upland Way. The coast path is right there. For birdwatching, the Wigtown Bay nature reserve is close. It's a big site for geese and waders. You can find out more at Scottish Wildlife Trust Wigtown Bay.
Within half an hour's drive you've got Wigtown, which is full of bookshops. Bladnoch Distillery is nearby if you want a tour. The Galloway Forest Park is about twenty-five minutes away for proper hills and lochs. More information at Forestry and Land Scotland Galloway Forest Park.
That's about it. It's a good spot if you want to be by the sea and have a quiet time.
