Culbae Cottage
Culbae Cottage is on our farm just outside Whauphill. It's a detached stone cottage. We finished renovating it in 2022, so everything inside is new. It's all on one level, which is handy.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathroom. The garden is fully enclosed, which is good if you're bringing dogs. You get the garden to yourselves, with a table and chairs.
Inside, it's straightforward. There's a woodburning stove for cooler nights, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. The patio doors from the living room let a lot of light in and open straight into the garden.
You're a few miles from the coast here. Port William is about five miles away. It's a small harbour village. You can get a meal there looking out over the water. The coastal views from that stretch are good, right over Luce Bay.
For a day out, Wigtown is about twenty minutes by car. It's known for its bookshops. The Bladnoch Distillery is nearby if that's of interest. The Galloway Forest Park, which is a UNESCO Biosphere, is within half an hour for walking or cycling. The 7Stanes mountain bike trails are there.
Practical things: bed linen and towels are included. The parking is right outside. We allow up to two dogs. It has a 4 Star rating.
