The Haven
The Haven is in Bladnoch, just outside Wigtown. It's a detached cottage, so you're on your own. It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's been done up to a high standard. It was all refurbished a few years back.
The living room has a wood burner. The kitchen and dining area are modern but it still feels like a cottage. The bathroom has a deep bath. There's a hot tub in the garden, which is enclosed. The garden is accessed from a balcony off the kitchen, down seven steps.
You can bring up to two dogs.
Bladnoch Distillery is about 200 yards up the road. They have a shop and do tours. There's a pub and restaurant across the road from the distillery. Wigtown, which is Scotland's book town, is about a mile away. It's got bookshops, galleries, cafes, and a pub.
The coast is about six miles. There are some good sandy beaches around the Machars. For walking and cycling, you've got the Galloway Forest and the 7Stanes trails like Kirroughtree nearby. It's a Dark Sky Park too, so the stars are good on a clear night.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. We provide a cot and highchair if you need them.
