This is Curlew Cottage in Creetown. It's a two-up-two-down end-of-terrace cottage, so it sleeps four. Two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. The garden is yours, and it's enclosed. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is good. It's clean and comfortable.
The village is quiet. There's a shop a five-minute walk away. The pub is a little further, maybe a fifteen-minute walk.
You're right in the Galloway Hills here. The Galloway Forest Park starts just up the road. It's a huge area for walking. They've made it a Dark Sky Park, so if you're into stargazing, it's very good on a clear night. There's a mountain bike centre at Kirroughtree about three miles away.
The coast is about seven miles drive. Some good sandy beaches that way, like at Sandhead. The climate is mild because of the Gulf Stream, so you get some surprising plants in the gardens. Threave Garden is close, and Logan Botanic Garden near Stranraer is worth the trip if that's your thing.
For towns, Newton Stewart is six miles east. It's got supermarkets and things. Kirkcudbright is about twenty minutes south, they call it the artists' town. Castle Douglas is Scotland's food town, and Wigtown is the book town. Both are within a half hour drive.
Facilities: there's a woodburning stove, a washing machine, dishwasher, and bike storage. Bedding and towels are included. WiFi. It says it's wheelchair accessible at the entrance. You can bring up to two dogs. There's an electric vehicle charging point in the village, a few hundred yards away.
