Cree Lodge is on our farm just outside Creetown. It's a detached lodge. You get your own bit of garden and patio with a view. The view is over our fields and out to the Solway Firth.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both ensuite. It's a 5 Star place, so it's fitted out well. Everything's on one level, which is handy.
You're on a working farm. It's sheep and dairy. We keep to ourselves, but you'll see the comings and goings. If you want to bring horses, we have stabling you can arrange for. It's not fancy, but it's dry and secure.
The Galloway Forest Park starts practically at the back door. It's a huge area for walking or cycling. You'll see deer. There are lots of lochs. Because it's so remote, the night skies are very dark. People come here to stargaze. The Galloway Forest Park site has maps and details.
Creetown is about a mile away for basics. Newton Stewart is a ten minute drive. It's a proper town with supermarkets, a few pubs, and places to eat.
Other towns are easy to get to. Castle Douglas is about 25 minutes. Kirkcudbright is maybe 30 minutes. Gatehouse of Fleet is in between. They're all a bit different. Kirkcudbright is an artist's town by the water. Castle Douglas has good food shops.
The nearest beach is at Carsluith, about seven miles. It's shingle. For a sandy beach, you'd go to Sandyhills or Rockcliffe, which are about 25 minutes by car.
Facilities: it's got what you'd expect. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking right outside.
