This is Kirroughtree Steading 1. It's a semi-detached cottage on the edge of the Galloway Forest, near Newton Stewart.
It sleeps four people in two bedrooms, and there are two bathrooms, which is handy. You can bring two dogs. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The setup is good for cyclists or walkers. You can get straight onto woodland walks from the garden gate. The Kirroughtree and 7Stanes mountain bike trails are right there. The garden is enclosed, and there's bike storage.
It's quiet, but Newton Stewart is about a twenty minute walk away for shops and cafes. There's a pub and restaurant about a mile up the road.
You're in the Dark Sky Park here, so the stars at night are very clear if it's not cloudy. The coast is about eight miles away for beaches, or you can explore inland around the forest. Castle Douglas and Kirkcudbright are both within a half hour drive if you want a day out.
Inside, it's got a washing machine, towels and bedding are included, there's a TV and WiFi, and parking right outside.
