Victoria Apartments, Galloway is in Newton Stewart. It's a one-bedroom flat on the high street, refurbished recently. It's small, but fine for two people.
You get a large bedroom with a king size bed and a separate shower room. The living area is open-plan, with the kitchen against one wall. It's all very clean and feels new.
The windows face the street. You can hear the town during the day, but it's quiet at night. There's no private garden, but it's a good spot for just walking out the door to the shops or a cafe.
Newton Stewart is handy. There's a supermarket a few minutes' walk away, along with banks, a chemist, and a few places to eat. It's a proper working town, not a tourist spot.
For getting out, you're right on the edge of the Galloway Forest Park. The roads north into the hills are just there. You can drive into the forest in about ten minutes. The Galloway Forest Park site is useful for walking trails.
The coast is a fifteen or twenty minute drive south. Places like Portpatrick or the RSPB reserve at the Mull of Galloway are good for a walk. Stranraer and its ferry port are about half an hour away.
Inside, there's a washing machine, a TV, and WiFi. The bedding and towels are provided. There's on-street parking outside, which is usually straightforward. No pets allowed.
If you want to know about the wider area for planning walks or history, National Trust for Scotland Galloway has good information.
