Minnow Cottage is in the old part of Minnigaff, right on the edge of Newton Stewart. It's a terraced cottage in a quiet little courtyard, surrounded by similar ones. You can walk to the shops and pubs in a couple of minutes.
It's a one-bedroom place, so it's just for two people. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's cosy and comfortable, not enormous. The main thing is the river. The garden is right on the bank of the River Cree. You'll see birds, maybe even an otter if you're lucky. There's a big picture window in the living room so you can watch it all from inside too, especially if you've got the wood burner going.
Newton Stewart itself is handy for the Galloway Forest Park. It's a Dark Sky Park, so the stars are incredible on a clear night. You'll see red deer up there in the daylight. For mountain biking, the 7stanes centres at Glentrool and Kirroughtree are very close. Wigtown, the book town, is about ten minutes' drive. Kirkcudbright and Castle Douglas are within half an hour if you want to explore more.
The coast is about seven miles away. There's a pub and a restaurant about a hundred yards from the cottage. The shop is a few minutes' walk.
It has a washing machine, towels and bedding are included, and there's parking right there. You can bring up to two dogs.
