Willow Lodge
Willow Lodge is near Creetown in Galloway. It's a detached, modern lodge. It's on the edge of a working sheep and dairy farm, so you'll see the animals. The view from the front is over fields to the Solway Firth.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both ensuite, so two bathrooms total. It's got a 5 Star rating. Everything is on one level, which is handy. The whole place is open plan inside.
The lodge is right on the Creetown to Kirroughtree path. You can walk or cycle straight from the door. The Galloway Forest Park starts just up the road. It's a huge area for walking. They've also got stabling if you wanted to bring a horse.
The nearest shop and a pub are about a mile away in Creetown. Newton Stewart is ten minutes by car for more shops and places to eat. Gatehouse of Fleet and Kirkcudbright are about twenty minutes drive. Castle Douglas, the 'food town', is maybe half an hour.
If you're into the outdoors, the Laggan Outdoor Activity Centre is nearby. They have a long zip wire. The Galloway Forest Park is a Dark Sky Park, so if you get a clear night the stars are very good. The Scottish Dark Sky Observatory is at the other end of the park, about forty minutes away.
For facilities, it's got pretty much everything: dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, TV. The garden is enclosed, which is good for dogs or kids. You can bring up to two pets. There's parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included, and we provide a cot and highchair.
