Little Cottage
Little Cottage is in Wigtown. It’s a semi-detached cottage for two people, one bedroom and one bathroom. It’s got a 4 Star rating. It’s clean and comfortable, but it’s not huge. That’s fine for a couple.
The garden is enclosed, which is good if you’re bringing dogs. You can have up to two. There’s bike storage if you need it.
It’s on the edge of the village, about a five minute walk to the square. Wigtown is the book town, so there are a lot of bookshops. There are a few cafes, a couple of galleries, and a pub that does food. The shop is about 250 yards away for basics.
The coast is about two miles east. There’s a path down to the bay. Wigtown Bay is a big nature reserve, good for birdwatching. You can walk for miles along the merse if you like that.
If you want to drive, the area is quiet. The Galloway Forest Park is about half an hour north for proper walking or stargazing. It’s a Galloway Forest Park Dark Sky Park. Newton Stewart is about six miles away for bigger supermarkets. The Bladnoch distillery is just outside the village if you like whisky tours.
Inside, it’s got what you’d expect: a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. The shower is a walk-in one. Bedding and towels are included. All the electricity is covered in the price.
