The Lodge is in Spittal. It's a quiet spot, part of an estate called Mochrum Park. It's a detached, Victorian lodge. The garden's big, and it's all for you.
The place sleeps four in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable. Because it's all on the ground floor, it's straightforward, no stairs.
The sitting room has an open fire. You can buy logs locally. The kitchen has what you need for basic meals. The washing machine is handy. All bedding and towels are included.
There's parking on site. We take two dogs.
For fishing, it's very good. A two minute walk through the parkland takes you to the fishing hut on the middle beat. You're at the "40 Footer" pool straight away.
If you're not fishing, it's a good walking area. Lots of quiet lanes. For mountain biking, Kirroughtree and the 7stanes trails are about a 20 minute drive.
Galloway Forest Park is nearby. It's Britain's largest forest park. Red deer, wild goats, that sort of thing.
The coast is about 20 miles away. Sandy beaches, rocky bits. The nearest pub and restaurant is about seven miles away in Glenluce.
This place can be booked with The Coach House and The Smithy if you're a bigger group.
