Crofthouse is in Wigtown, Scotland's book town. It's a detached house, brand new, finished in 2023. It's on a quiet street just off the main road.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both upstairs, and two bathrooms, one up and one down. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. The beds are good.
You've got a decent sized living room and a kitchen-diner with patio doors out to the back garden. The garden is enclosed, so it's private. It gets the sun.
Wigtown itself is a small, busy village. There are bookshops, a few galleries, tearooms, and a pub. The book festival is a big deal here in the autumn.
For things to do, you're right in the middle of Dumfries and Galloway. The coast is about ten minutes' drive. There are sandy beaches like Garlieston and Port William. The Galloway Forest Dark Skies Park is inland, maybe half an hour away if you want proper stargazing. There's walking, cycling on the 7 Stanes trails, fishing, and golf courses nearby.
In terms of what's here, it's all the stuff you'd expect. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Parking for one car on the drive. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, I'm afraid.
