Donallan
Donallan is a cottage near Carty Port. It's detached and on a quiet lane, surrounded by farmland. The views from the back are nice, looking out towards the Galloway hills and Wigtown Bay.
It sleeps five in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The kitchen is modern and open plan to the dining area, with patio doors out to the garden.
The garden is enclosed, which is good if you're bringing kids. There's a patio, a summer house, and a hot tub. The summer house has a TV and a little bar area inside.
You can walk into Newton Stewart from here. It's a small town with shops and places to eat. The Galloway Forest Park is close by if you're walking or cycling, and it's a Dark Sky Park too.
Wigtown, the book town, is a short drive away. The coast is about ten minutes by car. Places like Sandhead and Portpatrick are pretty little harbours. The RSPB reserve at the Mull of Galloway is good for seabirds in spring and summer.
There are some famous gardens nearby, like Logan Botanical Garden. For mountain biking, the 7Stanes trails at Kirroughtree aren't far.
The facilities include a washing machine, dishwasher, Wi-Fi, and parking. Bedding and towels are provided. There's bicycle storage if you're bringing bikes.
