West Lodge
West Lodge is near Newton Stewart. It's on the edge of the Machermore Castle estate. The River Cree runs past it. You're in the countryside, but the town's only a mile away for shops.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well equipped. It’s a semi-detached place, so you’ll have neighbours next door. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you’ve got a dog or kids.
You’re right at the start of the Galloway Forest Park. It’s a huge area for walking. You’ll see deer and other wildlife. The nearest proper beach is about eight miles away at places like Garlieston.
Newton Stewart has the basics: shops, a couple of places to eat. For a bigger choice, you’d drive to Gatehouse of Fleet or Castle Douglas. Castle Douglas is a food town with good butchers and delis. Kirkcudbright is nice for a wander round the harbour.
Inside, it's all on one level which is handy. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog.
