The Bothy
The Bothy is an annexe at Machermore Castle, just over a mile from Newton Stewart. It's a private part of the estate, so the garden and woodland walks are yours to use. The living room is upstairs. That's so you get the view.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable. The stairs are typical for a building like this, so they're a bit steeper than in a modern house.
You're at the edge of the Galloway Forest Park. The walks from the door are good. You might see deer. Newton Stewart has shops, a couple of cafes, and places to eat. It's a five minute drive.
If you want the coast, Portpatrick and Port William are about half an hour's drive. Good for a walk and some sea air. Culzean Castle and Country Park is also within half an hour, which is a good day out.
For facilities: there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog.
