The Hen Hoose
The Hen Hoose is on Lamachan View, just outside Newton Stewart. It's a small, old farm cottage, so the ceilings are low. I've bonked my head on the beam in the kitchen a few times. You get used to it.
It sleeps two. There are two bedrooms but they're both small doubles, so it's really just for two people, maybe with one child. One bathroom. Everything's clean and it's got a 3 Star rating.
You're right on the edge of the fields here, with a view of the river. You can step out the door and be on a riverside walk straight away.
Newton Stewart is about a mile away. It's a handy town with shops, a few pubs that do food, and a swimming pool. There's a golf course and tennis courts there too.
For getting out, you're in a good spot. The Galloway Forest Park is a short drive. It's a proper dark sky park, so the stars on a clear night are something else. The coast with all its little beaches and coves is about twenty minutes in the car. For cycling or walking, the routes around here are very good, from easy to challenging.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, WiFi, a TV, and parking right outside. You can bring one well-behaved dog. We provide all the bedding and towels. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
