High Threave Cottage
High Threave Cottage is on our farm near Spittal. It's detached and you've got your own space. The views are over the fields.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms, both on the ground floor. There are two bathrooms, which is useful. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's all level inside, which makes it straightforward for getting about.
You're on a working farm, so you'll see the animals about. There's a decking area at the back to sit out. The garden is enclosed.
It's quiet here, but Newton Stewart is about ten minutes' drive. It's a small town with shops and a few places to eat. Wigtown, the book town, is about the same distance the other way.
The coast isn't far. The beaches round here are good, often quiet. For walking or cycling, you're right in the middle of it. Kirroughtree and the 7Stanes mountain bike trails are close by if that's your thing.
The Galloway Forest Park is a short drive in. It's a Dark Sky Park, so the stars are clear on a good night.
Facilities: it's got a washing machine, parking right outside, and the bedding and towels are included. The TV works. It's wheelchair accessible at the entrance. No pets, I'm afraid.
