Shore Cottage is in Carsluith. It's a terrace cottage right on the beach of Wigtown Bay. The view is the main thing. You get sunsets over the sea.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable, and because it's from 1860, it feels cosy.
The cottage door opens straight onto the tidal beach. It's a nature reserve, so there are a lot of birds, like oystercatchers. You can hear them.
The stairs inside are steep and a bit narrow. We've put a stairgate at the top.
There's parking. Facilities are what you'd expect: woodburning stove, TV, WiFi, washing machine, bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog.
Carsluith Castle is a ruin just up the road. There's a smokehouse bistro there. Creetown has another smokehouse and a fish shop with a cafe.
Newton Stewart is the nearest proper town, about ten minutes by car. It's got shops, a cinema, and places to eat.
You're well placed for outdoors stuff. The Galloway Forest Park and the Dark Skies Park are close. For walking or cycling, Glentrool Forest and the 7Stanes mountain bike trails are nearby. There are golf courses too.
