Killantrae Burn
Killantrae Burn is in Port William, right on the harbour. It’s a terrace cottage, painted white like most of them here.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and a bathroom are downstairs. The living room, kitchen and dining area are all up one flight of stairs. That’s the open plan bit. It means you get a view over the harbour from the main living space. The stairs are a standard flight, but maybe watch your head coming down if you’re tall.
It’s got a 5 Star rating. That just means everything’s in good order and it’s well-equipped. There’s a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, WiFi, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring two dogs.
The beach is about twenty seconds’ walk. It’s shingle and sand. There’s a village shop fifty yards away for basics. For a proper pub, you’d need to drive. The nearest one is about ten miles.
If you like golf, the course is just outside the village. For walking, the Southern Upland Way and the Galloway Coast Path are right here. The Galloway Forest Park is about a half hour drive inland. It’s good for cycling, walking, and dark sky stuff. Glenwhan Garden is also within half an hour if that’s your thing.
