This one is called Ocean Drive. It's a detached timber lodge on a working farm just outside Gatehouse of Fleet. The main thing is the view. You get a full, uninterrupted look out over Wigtown Bay to the sea. The whole front is glass, so you see it from the living area.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well finished and comfortable. Everything you'd expect is there.
Being on a farm, it's quiet and rural. You're about two miles from Gatehouse of Fleet itself. There's a shop, a couple of pubs, and places to eat there. The nearest good beach is Mossyard, which is about a ten minute drive. It's sandy and good for families.
If you're bringing bikes, there's storage. There's also an electric vehicle charger. The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you've got kids or a dog. Sorry, no pets allowed though.
For things to do, you're close to the Galloway Forest Park, which is a Dark Sky Park. Good for stargazing on a clear night. The 7Stanes mountain bike trails at Kirroughtree are about twenty minutes away by car. For a quieter day, Kirkcudbright is worth a visit. It's about a twenty-five minute drive. They've got a nice harbour and some galleries.
The facilities list is pretty complete. Washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Parking right outside.
