This place is called Ocean Drive. It's a lodge on a working farm near Gatehouse of Fleet. The farm is arable, so it's crops, not animals. It's quiet.
It's one of four lodges on the site, but they're spaced out. You're detached, with your own garden. The main thing here is the view. You look right out over the sea. The front of the living area is pretty much all window, floor to ceiling. You get the same view from the patio. It's a good spot to sit.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's a 5 Star rating, which means it's well finished and comfortable. The beds are good. Everything is clean and in good order.
The town, Gatehouse of Fleet, is about a mile and three quarters away. There's a shop, a pub, and a restaurant there. Mossyard and Carrick beaches are a short drive. They're sandy and good for a walk or if you've got kids.
If you want to get out, the area is good for it. There's the Galloway Forest Park for walking. It's a Dark Sky Park, so if it's clear at night, the stars are very good. For mountain biking, the 7Stanes trails at Kirroughtree are about a 20-minute drive. Kirkcudbright, the artists' town, is about 25 minutes away by car. It's got a nice harbour.
In terms of what's here: there's a washing machine, towels and bedding are included, there's WiFi and a TV. Parking is right outside. No pets, I'm afraid.
For more information on the area, the Visit Scotland Galloway site is useful.
