Seascape

Seascape is a self-catering lodge on a working farm near Gatehouse of Fleet. It's one of four on the site. The main thing is the view. You look straight out over Wigtown Bay to the sea. The big windows mean you get that view from inside.

It sleeps four in two bedrooms. Both have their own bathroom. It's a 5 Star place, so it's comfortable and well finished. Everything is on one level.

You're about two miles from Gatehouse of Fleet itself. There's a shop, a couple of pubs, and places to eat there. For a beach, Mossyard or Carrick are a short drive. They're good, sandy beaches.

The area is good for walking. You can do the coastal path or head into the forests. For mountain biking, the 7Stanes trails at Kirroughtree and Dalbeattie are close by. The Galloway Forest Park is about half an hour's drive. It's a Dark Sky Park, so the stargazing is excellent on a clear night.

Kirkcudbright is worth a visit, maybe 20 minutes in the car. It's an artist's town with a nice harbour. Further afield, you could get to Dumfries in under an hour.

It's a quiet spot. You'll hear farm noises sometimes. The garden is enclosed and there's parking right outside.
