The Stables

The Stables is near the village of Cranswick, east of Driffield. It's a converted barn, one of three cottages on this farm. You're here for the quiet and the space. The views are over fields.

It's for two people. One bedroom, one shower room. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been done to a good standard, it's warm and tidy. The bedroom has a big zip-and-link bed, so it can be two singles or a super king.

Inside, it's all open plan. There's a wood burner. The kitchen has what you need: oven, hob, dishwasher, washing machine. Underfloor heating runs throughout, so it's never cold.

Outside, there's a private patio with a wood-fired hot tub. You share the wider grounds with the other cottages. There's a large pond and a nature walk around the edge of the fields.

You can bring two dogs. There's on-site parking.

Cranswick has a shop and a couple of pubs. Driffield is a few miles west for bigger shops. The Yorkshire Wolds are right here for walking and cycling. You can drive to the coast at Bridlington or Filey in about half an hour. Flamborough Head and the RSPB cliffs at Bempton are a bit further.

For a day out, Beverley is nice. York is under an hour's drive. Burton Agnes Hall and Sledmere House are both close by if you like stately homes.
