The Old Stable is on the edge of Sticklynch, in the Somerset countryside. It used to be a stable block, so it's a converted barn. It's semi-detached, there's another cottage joined to it, but you've got your own bit outside.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. One of the bedrooms is up in the old hayloft, so it's got a galleried feel. The stairs up to it are normal, but they're a bit steeper than a modern house. There's a stairgate if you need it.
Outside, there's a private patio and then a bigger, shared lawn area that's fenced all round. It's secure, so good for dogs or kids. You get nice views over the fields.
The place has a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable. Oak floors, big patio doors. There's a washing machine, TV, wifi, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can take up to two well-behaved dogs.
The nearest shop is about four miles away in Street. There's a decent pub doing food about two miles down the road.
For getting out, the Monarch's Way footpath runs right past the gate. You can walk for miles from the door. Glastonbury is a few miles away if you want to see the Tor or the Abbey. Wells is about twenty minutes by car, you can see the cathedral and the Bishop's Palace. Cheddar Gorge and the Fleet Air Museum are roughly half an hour's drive.
