Mow Barton

Mow Barton is a house on the Wellesley Park Estate, near Dulcote. It's a couple of miles outside Wells. You can walk into the city in about twenty-five minutes.

The house is all on one level. It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. One bedroom has an en-suite shower. Another has a kingsize bed that can be split into two singles if needed. The main bathroom has a shower over the bath.

The living area is open plan, with big windows looking over the garden to the fields. There's a large sofa and a Smart TV. The kitchen is well-equipped, with things like a dishwasher and a wine cooler. Speakers in the ceiling connect to Spotify.

Outside, there's a terrace with an L-shaped sofa set and some lawn. The garden isn't fenced in, it opens directly onto the estate.

One of the main points is that you get access to the estate's leisure complex. You can book private slots for the indoor heated pool, the sauna, steam room, the gym, and the tennis court. It's all included.

It's a short walk into Wells itself, which has the cathedral, shops, and places to eat. You can also walk straight into the Mendip Hills from the door. Glastonbury and its Tor are about ten minutes away by car. Bath is under an hour's drive.

Facilities wise: it's got WiFi, on-site parking, a washing machine, a cot and highchair. The property is wheelchair accessible. You can bring up to two dogs.

For planning days out, these sites are useful: National Trust Somerset, Mendip Hills National Landscape, and the Wells Cathedral site for visiting information.
