So this is Little Burcott Loft. It's a converted loft space above the garage at our place here in Burcott, near Wells. It's detached from the main house so it's quiet and private.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom with a shower. The main space is open plan, with the kitchen, dining area and sitting room all together. It's got nice views across the fields. There's a woodburning stove for cold evenings and the heating works fine. You get your own parking spot right outside.
Inside, it's mostly modern from the conversion. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. The WiFi is decent.
The thing to know is that it's a loft conversion. The ceilings are sloped in parts, so if you're very tall you might need to mind your head in a couple of spots.
Location wise, it's quiet. You're down a lane, surrounded by fields. There's a pub that does food about three-quarters of a mile away, in the next hamlet. The nearest shop is a mile away in Coxley, which has a decent village shop. Wells is about a mile and a half. You can walk into the city across the fields if you want.
From here, you're in a good spot for a lot of things. Wells itself is the main thing. The cathedral and Vicars' Close are worth seeing. Cheddar Gorge is about twenty minutes by car. Glastonbury Tor is maybe twenty-five minutes. Stourhead is about half an hour's drive. Street and the Clarks Village outlet are a short drive away.
If you want to plan days out, these sites are useful: National Trust Somerset, Wells City Council, and Visit Bath.
You can bring up to two dogs. Bedding and towels are included.
