The Gatehouse Cottage
This cottage is called The Gatehouse Cottage. It’s on the edge of Stoberry Park, just outside Wells. It’s a detached cottage on one floor, so everything's on the ground level.
It sleeps four people, in two bedrooms. There’s one bathroom with a bath and a separate walk-in shower. The place has a 5 Star rating, which means it’s been finished to a high standard.
You get your own private garden and two parking spaces. There’s also a large shared garden, about six acres, that you’re welcome to walk around. It belongs to the main house, so you just need to arrange a time with the owners. The views of the cathedral from up there are very good.
It’s set up for practical things. There’s a dishwasher, a washing machine, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog. There's also a cot and a highchair if you need them.
Wells itself is a short walk away. You can get to the cathedral, the shops and restaurants without using the car. The main street is just down the hill.
For things to do, Glastonbury and the Tor are about fifteen minutes by car. Cheddar Gorge and the caves at Wookey Hole are a similar distance. Bath is further, about a forty-five minute drive.
